Model story - Lingo's experience

Lingo is from Guizhou, a province in the southwest part of China.  There are vast mountain rangers all throughout that region of the country.  Ling and her family life relatively isolated in a remote mountain village.

Ling was an average young woman.  She had a job in a factory in Guangdong and her life was full of all the normal ups and downs of any young person making their way in the world.  That all changed 3 years ago when Lingo was 20 years old when she was diagnosed with bone cancer.  In order to save her life, doctors were forced to amputate her leg above the knee.  Lingo was devastated.  Her whole life was turned upside down.  People she once called friends cut off all contact with her.  Lingo withdrew from the world. She could not accept her new reality.  Years passed, and she gradually began to open up.  She made new friends that accepted her the way she is and slowly began making a new life for herself.  

Lingo likes anime and manga.  She also likes to take part in role-playing games.  Just like other young women her age, she likes clothes that make her feel beautiful, she likes compliments and she even likes the looks she gets for people that admire her beauty and strength.

Life is still not easy for Lingo, but her motto is “we must face life with strength”.
